242 Radio is a 24 hour music station, based in Edinburgh, Scotland in the United Kingdom. 242 Radio takes its name from the wavelength of the very popular radio station, Radio Scotland. During the golden era of offshore radio in the mid-1960s, it broadcast from a transmitter onboard the LV Comet, a converted lightship anchored in international waters off the coast of Scotland.
